Treasury Analyst

BASIC FUNCTION

The Treasury Analyst position is responsible for a variety of finance and treasury related tasks that is meaningful to the success of the department and the company.  The candidate will be responsible for the daily treasury operations and transactions including cash management and cash reporting activities.  This position will also perform financial analysis projects as well as compliance activities.

ENVIRONMENT/DIMENSIONS

The Treasury Department is responsible for the total administration of the Firm’s banking relationships including the Firm’s lines of credit.  All customer, dealer, and general ledger funds moving through the firm are channeled through this area to ensure overnight financing is sufficient to cover daily requirements.  The department is responsible for wire transfers, check deposits, stop payments, collateral loans, clearing deposits, maintaining authorized signers, recording ZBA activity, ACH settlement validation, monitoring OCC & NSCC excess/deficit reports, and issuing client checks.  Incumbents in this position will perform routine duties under immediate supervision.

Critical Outside Parties:                            Maintain relations with COR’s numerous banking contacts and treasury related service providers

Foreign currencies dimension:                Work with multiple foreign currencies including AUD, CAD, EUR, and GBP

Key systems and software:                      Thomsen/BETA, DTCC, OCC, Crystal, JIRA, banking platforms including FRB and SWIFT, BL Server, SQL, and other

 ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Supervising Supervisor: Senior Vice President of Finance
  • Immediate Supervisor: Manager, Treasury
  • Positions Supervised: None

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support day-to-day operations relating to bank account and fund transfers
  • Maintain the General Ledger subsidiary journal for cash receipts and cash disbursements, ensuring accuracy
  • Perform electronic payment processing of domestic and international transactions, including ACH and wire transactions. Ensure travel rules and OFAC compliance rules are followed
  • Issue daily customer and transfer agent checks and prepare for overnight shipment
  • Process incoming customer deposits and correspondent remote check deposits
  • Execute stop payment requests from correspondents and voids checks that are returned
  • Maintain working relationships with financial institutions and correspondents
  • Update daily reporting on department statistics such as returned checks processed, stop payment places, research items, and incoming and outgoing wire transfers processed for each correspondent firm
  • Support regulatory audits and exams
  • Cross training on other department functions
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of treasury/banking experience
  • Strong organization and critical thinking skills
  • Effective analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and comprehension skills, including the ability to clearly explain banking processes and regulations
  • Capability to exercise independent judgement within established policies and guidelines while provided appropriate customer solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • FINRA Series 7 or 99
  • Foreign Currency and International Cash Management experience
